Carlisle House

The practice has been based at Carlisle House since 1994. This imposing building was originally built as a Vicarage, and had also been used as a Children's Home and a Masonic Lodge before being extensively refurbished and reborn as the Caldew Veterinary Centre - various phases of development have seen it expand into the purpose built premises it is today. Wetheral

Oak Tree

We moved into this site within the yard at the Oak Tree Animals' Charity at Wetheral in October 2019.  We refurbished the premises to include a waiting area and a modern veterinary consulting room.

The "Animals' Refuge" as it was known was founded in 1909 by Francis Cox, who campaigned for better working conditions for pit ponies and other working horses, and the Charity has now grown to provide a home for horses, goats, sheep and cattle. It’s also a safe haven for hundreds of stray, abandoned or unwanted dogs and cats who are rehomed through their Adoption Programme. For more information on Oak Tree Animals' Charity click here
