Paragon Vets are excited to announce that building work has started on their new facilities at Dalston.
Our spacious waiting areas and modern consulting rooms opened in 2011 and have helped make trips to the vet less stressful thanks to more space in the waiting room for dogs, and specifically a separate cat waiting area. The experience is also more enjoyable for both owners and pets due to our large range of waiting room products including lifestage diets, dog and cat beds bowls and baskets; toys, leads and collars and training aides.
The expanded facility has also allowed us to develop our nurse clinic service with a room dedicated to this purpose. We have since been awarded and retain the status of a weight management centre for pets.
We are delighted that work has now started on the second phase of the expansion. This large expansion includes new, custom built facilities designed to provide the highest standard of care for the pets in North Cumbria possible for years to come.
Our new facilities will have separate dog kennels and cattery with specially designed cat condos to make their stay as stress-free as possible. These are plastic as opposed to steel kennels which are quieter for cats and are essentially a split level apartment with a secluded sleeping area. We will have a large preparation area at the hub of the hospital and 2 controlled, sterile surgical theatres to help minimise contamination and infection risk. The two theatres will allow us to increase the theatre throughput including advanced surgery from visiting specialist surgeons. We will also have a separate isolation area for pets that have infections that could be spread to other animals. Our diagnostics area will contain facilities for digital radiography, ultrasonography and endoscopy.
We will be putting in a facility to enable us to see and treat small farm animals indoors, so will be able to do lambings and sheep caesareans undercover and temporarily house calves and sheep for treatment.
Both Small and Large animal departments will benefit from an upgraded laboratory facility. The range of blood tests we can offer will expand and the in-house facility producing results within a matter of minutes will allow us to reach diagnoses and instigate appropriate treatment quicker. The expanded lab facility will also facilitate some in-house testing of urine, faeces, skin and tissue samples.
With the completion of this development we feel that we will have a facility through which we can offer excellent veterinary care for all our clients and their pets and we look forward to taking this journey with them.
